As an all-in-one platform committed to the circular economy in the tech sector, Dipli places carbon impact measurement at the core of its DNA. Our 2024 carbon footprint report once again confirms a structural reality: for a company operating at the heart of the professional secondary market ecosystem, the majority of its impact lies within the trade-in and refurbished value chain, namely Scope 3.
Despite this, in 2024, we were awarded the Greenly Silver Medal, placing us among the top 15% of companies worldwide in terms of climate governance (benchmark based on the carbon assessments of companies evaluated by Greenly in the IT Services and digital e-commerce sector).
👉 In this article, discover the details of our carbon footprint report as well as the climate roadmap we have set for the next five years.
2024 carbon footprint results: scope 3 at the core of our environmental impact
Emissions breakdown: detailed analysis by scope
In 2024, Dipli emitted 650 tCO2e, with a very strong concentration of indirect emissions linked to its value chain.
💡 The breakdown of our emissions across the three scopes is as follows:
- Scope 1: 0,685 tCO2e,
- Scope 2: 0,589 tCO2e,
- Scope 3: 649 tCO2e, representing 99.8% of our total carbon emissions.
Scope 3 therefore accounts for the overwhelming majority of our carbon footprint, which is consistent with our core business activities: electronic device trade-ins and the management of refurbished product flows.
Note: the share of physical flows increased by 156.03% between our 2023 and 2024 carbon assessments. This evolution reflects improved methodological accuracy in data collection. Our objective is not only to reduce emissions, but first and foremost to measure them more precisely in order to better manage and steer our carbon footprint in the future.
Scope 3: carbon audit details
More than 80% of our Scope 3 emissions are concentrated in four main categories:
- Machinery & Equipment – Repair & Installation: 395 tCO2e (60.7%),
- Freight: 76 tCO2e (11.7%),
- Software usage: 49 tCO2e (7.5%),
- Digital (software development & hosting): 24 tCO2e (3.7%).
💡 These figures highlight a structural reality: in a business focused on managing the ecosystem surrounding tech product trade-ins and refurbishment, transport-related flows and the development of our services are the primary emission drivers.
Climat strategy 2025–2030 : structuring the limitation of our carbon emissions
Ongoing reduction initiatives
Building on the results of our 2023 and 2024 carbon assessments, we have progressively implemented several initiatives to strengthen our CSR commitment. These include:
- Raising employee awareness on social and environmental issues (Climate Fresk in 2023, Agri’Alim Fresk and Diversity Fresk in 2025, internal waste-sorting training, etc.).
- Evaluation of our CSR management system with EcoVadis (first rating completed in 2024, reassessment ongoing).
- Continuation of our carbon contribution program in partnership with ReSoil.
- Measurement of our positive impact using the ADEME methodology.
Upcoming reduction actions
Beyond reporting, Dipli has embedded its carbon trajectory into a five-year climate strategy aligned with its European expansion and operational structuring. Our roadmap through 2030 is built around several key pillars:
- Achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications to sustainably structure our quality and environmental management systems.
- Strengthening supplier requirements through a responsible purchasing charter and the deployment of a climate form to refine Scope 3 analysis.
- Optimizing freight flows to reduce transport distances of electronic devices from seller to buyer by prioritizing local processing centers.
- Transitioning to more responsible digital practices by migrating to lower-carbon cloud hosting and integrating green coding principles.
- Enhancing internal operational sobriety through reduced business travel, prioritizing train over air travel, switching to a green energy provider, and introducing a weekly vegetarian day at the office.
