The Digital Cleanup Day
Digital Cleanup Day vous know ? This is a global event, co-sponsored by the Institut du Numérique Responsable and the World Cleanup Day - France, which aims to federate all the actors of the territory to clean our data, repair or recycle our digital equipment, to reduce our digital footprint.
The objective is to raise awareness of the growing impact of digital technology and to take concrete action from 13 to 18 March 2023 by encouraging companies to participate in one or more operations :
-
“Digital CleanUp Data”: Digital data sorting and cleaning workshop (files, photos, applications, etc.) on our equipment and our clouds.
-
“Digital CleanUp Reuse" : Workshop to extend the life of functional digital equipment to protect, reuse, repair or donate it.
-
"Digital Cleanup Recycling" : Collection point to recover your end-of-life equipment (treatment and recovery of WEEE) through local eco-organizations.
But why bother with all this?
If digital is the source of great progress, its acceleration is worrying for the environment. Digital technology is responsible for 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions today, and it is estimated that by 2025 this digital pollution will double! Harmful impacts must be considered at all stages of the life cycle of a digital equipment (from its manufacture above all, to its end of life through its use).
At Dipli, we mobilize as a team! We organize our Digital Cleanup Reuse and take action by offering companies to valorize or recycle digital equipment that sleeps in their closet.

How to give a second life to digital equipment ?
Managing the end of life of devices that sleep in corporate closets seems to be long and expensive. However, integrating them into a reconditioning process would:
- Reduce the costs of renewing IT fleets
- Extend the life of the devices
- Prevent the extraction of resources, which have become increasingly valuable, for the manufacture of new products
More and more professionals decide to offer a second life to their equipment to support their CSR approach. But many are still cautious about this idea. And for good reason, the valuation of computer equipment suffers from prejudices that remain to be deconstructed. Click here to discover the received ideas on the valuation of corporate fleets.
👉 Your devices are functional or repairable but they no longer meet your needs? We will accompany you to upgrade them on the second hand market.
A functional device describes a functioning equipment with acceptable performance with a supported OS level (with at least 64-bit Windows 10 for computers). For smartphones and tablets, the screen can be very slightly split but no more. The state of the devices (scratches) is not very annoying as long as the features are not impacted. Breaks that weaken the equipment too much induce a classification as non-functional.
👉 Your devices are not functional or repairable, they must be treated as Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE or D3E). They will then be dismantled, materials sorted and recycled to the extent possible.
Focus on supply points near your premises to limit long-distance shipments and boost the local ecosystem. To find a partner to collect your non-functional equipment, you can :
