On April 20, 2022, MEPs validated new rules that want to make USB-C the new standard for all mobile devices. More precisely, it was the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection that endorsed "the revision of the Radio Equipment Directive".
Since April 11, our packaging has evolved for a more ecological offer! This decision is part of our EHS commitment, we continue our actions to minimize our impact on the environment. 📦
We made the choice to remove the charging pads and headphones from our packaging options.
🌿 Why?
Every year, there are more than 11,000 tons of WEEE consisting of only charging pads or headphones. Accessories are difficult to recondition, so they can rarely be given a second life. Smartphones are delivered in lighter boxes, which reduces the environmental impact of transporting them.
🚚 This is why we have removed the charging pad from our packaging. Smartphones are delivered in lighter boxes, which reduces the environmental impact of transporting them.
🎧 We even decided to remove the headphones, in order to adapt to the customer experience, who prefers to use their own headphones, often of better quality.
In addition to being an ecological nonsense, they are also an economic nonsense.
🌱 As part of our EHS commitment, we continue our actions to minimize our impact on the environment. That's why our packaging has evolved since April 11!
Moreover, it is no longer mandatory in France to provide the charging pad and headphones since the law of November 15, 2021, which aims to reduce the environmental footprint of digital.
