The price decrease observed last month continues in December, and it's more pronounced 📉.

Unlike the previous year, this period is experiencing a decline in prices.

Two hypotheses are possible :

In November, prices are decreasing 📉

This can be attributed to three factors:

👉 Simultaneously, an increase in stocks naturally leads to a price decline.

👉 The iPhone 15 is selling better this year than its predecessor, resulting in a greater trade-in flow replenishing the stocks.

Prices rose in August! (4 points).

👉 This can be explained by the back-to-school period, which generates an increase in demand for certain refurbished products, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones, as many professionals are looking to equip themselves for the new year.

What's more, the limited availability of certain refurbished products can push up prices. If certain models or configurations are out of stock, sellers may adjust prices upwards to reflect accumulated demand.

Finally, fluctuations in the supply of electronic components and spare parts can also influence the price of refurbished products. If the supply of these components is limited, the costs of repairing and refurbishing refurbished products may rise, which will have an impact on selling prices.

Prices fell sharply during the month of July !

Over the whole of 2023, the situation is more nuanced.   Despite this sudden fall in 2023, the decline remains below that recorded in the same period since from January to July 2022, there was a decrease of 11% compared to 12% the previous year.📉

The correlation is striking, it is clearly a catch-up effect. It should be noted that the decline in the second half of the year is still slight, it was 6% in 2022.
